Name: Lucas...
is a hyper-advanced cyborg- his body consists of all of his active drives; his memory of all of his active sources. These are all variable, but on a periodic basis his bio components crave energy and sleep and remind him of his basic identity-layer (yes, I crave sleeping)...

New Akiba.com's Wonder Fest 05 Report

I'm still unsure what exactly is newakiba.com, but from the looks of it, seems to me like a Japanese toys and figures news page. Recently they updated with WonFest 05 news, and as we know from my previous posts, WonFests are full of delightful Shirow surprises. Please visit the New Akiba website and check out their Wonder Festival 2005 report! Not only Shirow, but lots of other figures and kits that will tingle your senses! In case they don't intend to archive this report, the MSHP will archive them for you (and myself ^_^)- Shirow only of course, for your convenience~

New Akiba.com

Before we start, I like this one! From ALUCARD, SAC 2nd Gig Motoko Kusanagi! ^_^ So cool!

Alucard Motoko

:: YAMATO TOYS ::

First is the Yamato Toys gallery, featuring all near-future releases: (from left) Ballistics, Galhound Girl #1, Galhound Girl #2, Dominion, Orion, and last but not least, a new Appleseed (3D Live Anime) Figures Set! Click on thumbnails for bigger picture.

Ballistics Galhound #1 Galhound #2 Dominion Orion Appleseed (New)

:: ALUCARD ::

I've just discovered this figure / kit maker- ALUCARD! Ghost In The Shell SAC stuff, and they look interesting. Definitely creative! The highlight of this set has got to be the superb 2nd Gig Twin Motoko (picture 7) and the entire Section 9 members (picture 4). You don't get to see figure sets of the entire Section 9 members often, believe me!

Tachikoma! Motoko, Batou & Cockpit Tachikoma's Conference Section 9 Public Security! Nuclear Mines Scene Motoko, Tachikoma, Rou (Kuze) Super 2nd Gig Twin Motoko! Close up of Motoko Runaway Tank

:: KSR ::

I'm totally hooked on this next one - kit maker KSR makes the most wicked, and exciting Fu/tachikomas I've seen so far! And Bonaparte too! If I had to choose just one kit from all that I've seen from New Akiba's WonFest report, this cute, red Fuchikoma is definitely going to be my choice. Highest praise for KSR and this wonderful Fu/tachikoma & Bonaparte set!

Bonaparte, Fuchikoma & Tachikoma! Bonaparte! Tachikoma!

:: のべつまくなし ::

のべつまくなし (?????) Don't know how to translate the name of this kit maker, but the exhibition concept is very interesting and creative! We see Fuchikoma watching over Mei (from Totoro) crossing the street, and a scenario re-contruction of the Fuchikoma's battle against the runaway tank in SAC. ^_^ Really enjoyed looking at this set too.

Be careful there! Stop That Tank!! Teamwork! Help! I'm stranded here...

:: OVERDARD ::

To finish off this post - OVERDARD!! ~^_^~

Another view of this errr... inspiring kit!

Hope you guys enjoyed looking at the pics as much as I do, and of course it would be nicer if we could actually get them for collection but let's not be too greedy ya? ^_^ Plus its not cheap too, definitely at least twice or three times more expensive than mass-produced figures. However, there is hope for figures from major manufacturers such as Yamato, and I'm sure this will not be the last we hear about the new Appleseed figures set.

Thanks again to Akros. Everytime he posts on the Shirow Fan BBS, I somehow end up spending many hours online! ^o^
